GAO Review of the Voluntary Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Program

The United States General Accounting Office has completed two separate reviews of the Voluntary Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Progam at the request of Representative Henry Waxman, Ranking Minority Member of the House Committee of Government Reform and Oversight.

The first review is available in PDF (Acrobat 3.0) at the GAO's Selected GAO Correspondence web site. Alternatively, this site offers a scanned copy of the cover letter and a hand-coded HTML version of the report, GAO/RCED-98-107R, Department of Energy: Voluntary Reporting Program for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reductions, March 24, 1998, that were presented to Representative Waxman at the conclusion of the first GAO review.

The second review, Climate Change: Basic Issues in Considering a Credit for Early Action Program, presented in November of 1998, is now also available from GAO in both PDF (version 3.0) and an ASCII file.

The first copy of each GAO report and testimony is free. Additional copies are $2 each.
