Beginning with data for January 2011 as published in the August 2012 and subsequent releases of the Natural Gas Monthly, residential, commercial and industrial prices have been reweighted to reflect all sales of natural gas to end-users instead of the sales of only the entities selected to report on EIA-857, Monthly Survey of Natural Gas Purchases and Deliveries to Consumers. In most cases, the resulting price calculation change is modest, however a comparison of prices calculated with the new and prior method is available below. Further information on price calculation methodology can be found in Appendix C.
