| Notes: • Beginning with 2001 data, non-biogenic municipal solid waste and tire-derived fuels are reclassified as non-renewable energy sources and included in Other. Biogenic municipal solid waste is included in Other Renewables. Beginning with the collection of Form EIA-923 in January 2008, the methodology for separating the fuel used for electricity generation and useful thermal output from combined heat and power plants changed, and at plants that utilize multiple fuels, may have resulted in a reallocation of the total plant generation accross those fuels. The new methodology was retroacitvely applied to 2004-2007. See the Technical Notes (Appendix C) for further information. • See Glossary for definitions. • Values for 2010 and prior years are final. Values for 2011 are preliminary. See Technical Notes for a discussion of the sample design for the Form EIA-923 and predecessor forms. • Totals may not equal sum of components because of independent rounding. | |||||||||||

Please make the base font size larger in the lists on this pagethe page has a long scroll already and the benefit of small text is therefore negated. A larger font size will make the lists more accessible and will improve user scan-to-find success rates.

Make data available via XML or CSV Excel files, please.

EIA's website is a fantastic resource our office uses routinely. Representing more data in graphic form would be useful to our office and to the public. Charts and graphs would help those making quick interpretations of data now presented as numerical values in charts. Keep up the good work!

Hold the headers for columnar data in place. Thanks.
02/13/2012 - New York, United States
Nice work with the charts - an interesting way to track the most recent data. A great feature would be linking data points to sources so we could drill down into, for example, what constituted the 628,644 GWh generated by nuclear in 1997.

I would like to see a chart that shows historical coal consumption for my state.
02/10/2012 - California, United States
Came to beta site following tweet. What the heck is EIA? Nowhere on home page is the acronym explained. Page looks nice but needs to also cater to newbies unfamiliar with this stuff.
02/10/2012 - New York, United States
Can you scroll the data under a fixed title line?
02/09/2012 - Virginia, United States
I want to be able to select my own regions based on state build-ups instead of being forced into using Census regions.

too cool.
