Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA)

The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) is the nation's leading regional non-profit organization focused on promoting the understanding, development, and adoption of energy conservation and non-polluting, renewable energy technologies. For more than thirty years, NESEA has facilitated and enhanced a network of professionals and practitioners in pursuit of responsible energy use. We envision energy systems that interact to preserve and improve our resources and ecosystems, while vitalizing economies, building local security and regional self reliance, and improving the quality of all life.O ur programs and activities focus on the northeastern United States, from Washington, DC to Maine.

NESEA offers hands-on, inquiry-based, science and engineering programs, resources, and professional development workshops that enable teachers, non-formal educators, and students to explore the science, technology, and potential of low-polluting, environmentally friendly, secure energy options such as renewably-produced electricity, clean transportation fuels, alternative transportation systems, and healthy, efficient buildings. Publications include: Energy Thinking for Massachusetts, Energy Thinking for Pennsylvania, Clean Green Power Program and Resource Guide, Wind Wisdom Program and Resource Guide, Cars of Tomorrow and the American Community, Getting Around Clean and Green, Getting Around Without Gasoline, Choose your Future Adventure Game, Getting Around Clean & Green in the Pioneer Valley (Map), Junior Solar Sprint Newsletter. NESEA also offers its curriculum development expertise to other organizations and schools. We can design site, state, and regional resource and curricular materials on a wide range of energy education topics including; energy efficiency, green schools, renewable energy resources, and solutions-oriented sustainable activities for the built environment.
